Update: Holy Father's address to FCAPP Conference, please read here
The 2010 International Conference - "Development, Progress and Common Good" -
sponsored by the Scientific Committee of Fondazione Centesimus Annus Pro
Pontifice took place in Rome on Friday, May 21, 2010 at the Pontifical
Gregorian University, Piazza della Pilotta 4, Convention Center "Matteo Ricci,"
followed by the Papal Audience on Saturday, May 22.
General Assembly of members convened at 8:30 a.m., followed by
Mass at 9:45 a.m. celebrated by H.E. the Most Rev. Domenico Calcagno.
At 10:30 a.m. Domingo Sugranyes Bickel, Chairman of FCAPP, and
Rev. Francisco Egana, S.J.,Vice Rector of the Pontifical Gregorian University, Rome,
gave the welcoming addresses, followed by the introduction to the conference by
Alberto Quadrio Curzio, President of the Scientific Committee of FCAPP and Dean
of the Department of Political Sciences, Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, Milan.
The conference sessions started at 11 a.m. The topics covered were:
1. "Progress: human development and solidarity for the construction of
mankind's future." (Prof. Msgr. Sergio Lanza, Pontifical Lateran University, Rome).
2. "Common good: the dialogue among cultures and the role of education."
(Ms. Anna Prouse, Provincial Reconstruction Team, Nassaria, Iraq)
3. "Development: the recent crisis and the North-East-South relations."
(Prof. Peter Nolan, Director of the Chinese Big Business Programme, Cambridge
Judge Business School , London.)
A debate/Q&A followed each session.
A Round Table panel /discussion started at 3:30p.m
followed by Q&A/debate.
H.E. the Most Rev. Claudio Maria Celli,
(spiritual advisor to CAPP-USA) President of the Pontifical Council for Social
Communications and International Assistant of FCAPP, addressed the assembly.
Saturday, May 22, members assembled at the Vatican (Petriano Gate) at
9:00 a.m. and proceded to the Lourdes Grotto in the Vatican Gardens for
Mass, presided by His Eminence Attilio Cardinal Nicora. At 11:30 a.m the
Papal audience was held in Clementine Hall, Papal Palace.

"The Catholic Vision in the Global Public Square" at Fairfield University,
Dolan School of Business Dining Room.
Cardinal Cordes is President of the Pontifical Council Cor Unum.
This event is co-sponsoredby Fairfield University's Center for Faith and
Public Life and CAPP-USA.

CAPP-Fairfield County - Adult Formation Courses
EPS Program (Education for Parish Service) courses are held at St. Philip's Parish,
25 France Street, Norwalk, Connecticut.
A Foundations of Moral Theology course will be held on
Tuesdays, September 7 - October 12, 2010, 7:15 - 9:30 pm.

The annual international conference of the Scientific Committee of the Fondazione
CentesimusAnnus - Pro Pontifice was held in Rome at the Gregorian University
on Friday, June 12, 2009, followed by a Papal audience with FCAPP/CAPP-USA
members on Saturday, June 13. The theme of the conference was: "Values and
rules for a new model for development."
